Jomon Dogu The top right image shows the foot of a Jomon period clay figurine (dogu). The bottom left appears to be a decorated fragment of pottery. The foot has slight patterns on the upper part, and the toes faintly depict individual toes. When closely examined, the entire foot shows traces of shaping, possibly using a spatula or a similar tool. I have handled several smaller pieces before, but this one is quite large.
