This is an Annan tea bowl that was popular among Japanese tea masters and was fired in Vietnam in the 19th century.

Â Characterized by its delicate blue and white porcelain, this bowl features traditional motifs that are both simple and striking.

Annam-yaki refers to a type of ceramic made in Annam (Vietnam) and is one of the three types of ceramics used in Japanese tea ceremonies, alongside Chinese and Korean. In Vietnam, under the influence of China, porcelain and celadon were produced early on, and in the 14th and 15th centuries, blue and white porcelain and red paintings were made.

Crafted between 19th century, this piece reflects the rich cultural exchange between Japan and Vietnam. The gentle curves of the bowl are adorned with flowing, organic patterns, rendered in a cobalt blue that has slightly faded over time, adding to its historical charm.
