Unique Vintage Japanese Stainless Steel "Suiseki" - 2-Piece Assembly Sculpture SS230

This is a rare and conceptually fascinating industrial "Suiseki" (viewing stone) made of Stainless Steel. Titled "Tateyamasui-ko" (Vertical Landscape Steel), this set consists of two separate metallic fragments designed to be assembled into various configurations.

Key Features:

  • Interactive Art Piece: The included handwritten manual describes this as an "Assembly Type" (Kumitate-shiki). It features hand-drawn diagrams showing how the two jagged, molten pieces can be positioned together to create a rugged "Fantastic Rock" mountainscape.

  • The Joy of Discovery: There is no single "correct" way to assemble it; the artist invites the owner to explore the interlocking textures and find their own ideal Zen landscape.

  • Industrial Heritage (1974): The documentation notes it was collected in October 1974 (Showa 49). Like other pieces from this collection, it represents a unique era of Japanese industrial history, where molten steel was captured in organic, fossil-like forms.

  • Complete Collector's Set: Housed in a custom wooden storage box with calligraphy on the lid.
