Description
This is an antique Japanese "kiseru" (traditional smoking pipe) produced during the Meiji period. It consists of a bamboo central stem fitted with metal mouthpiece and bowl ends.
The metal mouthpiece is decorated with a detailed relief carving of a dragon, featuring small copper-toned accents for its eyes. The metal components exhibit a naturally aged brass or bronze patina.

The item is in antique condition and shows significant signs of aging and damage. The center of the bamboo stem is scorched black and has a vertical crack that causes air to leak. Due to this damage, the pipe cannot be used for smoking in its current state and is recommended for display purposes only. If intended for actual use, the cracked bamboo must be repaired or replaced entirely. The metal parts show surface wear, scratches, and natural oxidation.
