Japanese Sword Reference Book Nihon Toko Jiten Fujishiro 2 Vols ASO456
Description
Japanese Sword Reference Book Nihon Toko Jiten Fujishiro 2 Vols
This is a complete two-volume set of the "Nihon Toko Jiten" (Dictionary of Japanese Swordsmiths), authored by Yoshio and Matsuo Fujishiro. The set includes the "Koto" (Old Swords) volume published in 1964 and the "Shinto" (New Swords) volume published in 1976.
The books feature extensive Japanese text detailing swordsmiths and their characteristics, accompanied by numerous "oshigata" (ink rubbings of sword tangs and blades). Both volumes are bound in red hardcovers with gold lettering.
The items are in vintage condition, showing signs of aging. The set is missing one of the original slipcases (for the Shinto volume). The included slipcase for the Koto volume has significant tears and wear. The books themselves exhibit natural discoloration, minor surface scuffs, and a visible dark mark on the spine of the Koto volume.
