This is an authentic Japanese Buddhist ritual staff, known as a Khakkhara (Shakujo).
It has been traditionally used in Buddhist temples and Shinto practices.
The staff features a long wooden shaft with a metal ringed top that produces a gentle sound during walking, ceremonies, or meditation.
The area where the monk’s or user’s name was once inscribed has been erased.
