This is a masterpiece passed down by those who love Tanba ware.

It is a Tamba ware waterÂ jar.
This is a Tanba ware jar from the late Edo period, around the 19th century, famous for its white Tanba style. It is an extremely attractive piece. The jar is made from brown clay rich in iron, covered with white slip, and the patterns are created using a slipware technique reminiscent of inchin. Yanagi Soetsu, the father of the Mingei movement and a philosopher, praised the white color of Tanba ware, comparing it to the white porcelain of the Song dynasty in China.

This vase features fine crackles with age stains that have naturally emerged over time, adding to its charm. Such aged art pieces are rare. Please consider adding this exceptional piece to your collection.
