This is an exceptional Antique Japanese Boro textile, hand-crafted during the Meiji to Taisho period (late 19th to early 20th century). It is a stunning example of folk art (Mingei), featuring intricate Sashiko (hand-stitched) patterns over deep, aged indigo-dyed cotton.

Key Features:

  • Intricate Sashiko Patterns: Features various traditional geometric motifs including Asanoha (hemp leaf), waves, and fan-like designs meticulously stitched by hand.

  • Natural Indigo (Aizome): The fabric is made of hand-spun cotton dyed with natural indigo, which has developed a beautiful, faded "Aura" over a century.

  • Large Display Size: Measuring 155cm x 142cm, it is perfect for use as a wall hanging, bed cover, or a centerpiece for a textile collection.
