Vintage Japanese Folk Craft Bamboo Woven Basket Collection Set of 8 WO639

This is a collection of 8 vintage Japanese woven bamboo baskets, originally used as everyday folk craft (mingei) tools in households and farms. They are estimated to date from the mid-Showa period (circa 1950s-1970s). 

The set includes various shapes and weaving styles, such as a large shallow basket (zaru) for sorting and drying, deep round baskets for storage or transport, a vase-shaped basket, and two small handled baskets likely used for foraging or carrying small items. The dark brown deep basket features remnants of black ink writing or a seal on its side.
