This is a Japanese "suiseki" (viewing stone), specifically a polished "kikkaseki" (chrysanthemum stone) originating from Gifu Prefecture. It comes with a custom-fitted wooden base (daiza).

The stone is displayed vertically and features a smooth, polished surface with a dark green matrix. It displays a large, distinct, multi-colored (white and red) radiating mineral formation. This specific type is known as "kujaku kikkaseki" (peacock chrysanthemum stone) because the colorful floral patterns resemble the feathers of a peacock. White mineral veins are also visible running across the surface.
