Description

This is a Japanese Bizen ware (Bizen-yaki) ceramic dog figurine, crafted by the kiln Toseien under the potter Kimura Toho. It is an unglazed stoneware ornament that includes a wooden box base and a maker's paper insert.

The figurine depicts two short-snouted dogs playfully positioned together. The surface displays the natural earthy tones characteristic of Bizen pottery, featuring a textured, unglazed finish with subtle reddish-brown and grayish color variations created during the firing process. An incised maker's mark is present on the underside.
