Japanese Antique Ebira Quiver Board with Buddhist Prayer Banners Set Edo Meiji
Description
This is an antique Japanese Ebira (samurai arrow quiver) wooden backboard, together with a set of six hand-brushed Buddhist prayer banners.
The board, made of lacquered wood and leather straps, was part of a traditional samurai quiver used to carry arrows on the back.
The accompanying banners are written in classical Chinese characters with Buddhist and Shugendō scriptures, used as protective or memorial prayer flags during temple or mountain rituals.
