Vintage Japanese Bronze Vase Crane Neck Engraved Geometric Pattern Showa 1959
Description
This is a vintage Japanese cast bronze vase (kabin) accompanied by its original inscribed wooden storage box (tomobako). The underside of the vase bears an engraved commemorative inscription dating it to "Showa 34" (1959).
The vase features a classic, elegant "tsurukubi" (crane neck) shape with a deep, mottled dark green patina. The bulbous body is delicately hand-engraved with abstract, geometric patterns resembling stylized water waves or celestial lines, adding a subtle touch of mid-century modernist design to the traditional form. It serves as a refined vessel for ikebana flower arrangements or stands alone as a sophisticated sculptural artifact for a Japanese-inspired or contemporary interior.
