Antique Japanese Shino Tea Bowl Seto Ware Late Edo Period Chawan Box SCBP46
Description
Antique Japanese Shino Tea Bowl – Seto Ware from Late Edo to Bakumatsu Period – Chawan with Box
Description:
This is an authentic antique Japanese Shino tea bowl (Chawan), made in Seto, one of Japan’s most renowned ceramic production centers. The bowl dates back to the late Edo period to the Bakumatsu era (mid-19th century), making it over 100 years old.
It features the signature characteristics of traditional Shino ware—a soft white glaze with natural crackle patterns and earthy textures. Despite its age, this piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, and remains fully functional for tea ceremony use. It comes with its original wooden storage box.
This Shino Chawan is a rare and beautiful example of Japanese pottery and Edo period craftsmanship, perfect for collectors of Japanese antiques, tea utensils, or wabi-sabi-inspired decor.
