Kakushi tansu is a chest of drawers for hiding secret belongings that are difficult for those who don't know how to unlock.
I took a video of how to open it.
There are keys in the top and bottom drawers except the middle one.
There is a hidden storage space in the bottom drawer.
It is quite sturdy because it uses the material of a long brazier that was used from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period.
It is made by current craftsmen using old wood (long brazier made from zelkova).
＊The first and third tiers have keys.
The second level does not have a key, but the drawer opens.
It has a key but does not function when the key is turned.
