DESCRIPTION
This is an unusual clock that used the INCENSE that is called JOKOBAN.
The lower part has a drawer for toolbox and a Gorinto type receiving shaft.There are incense ruler, Hainarashi (Ash Leveler) and Ash shape ruler in the drawer.The middle part is the incense burning tray for putting incense and using incense ruler on top with ash. Rotate freely.
The upper part is an inset wooden grid.
It is the same type as JOKOBAN used in Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple, and was actually used in ancient temples from the Heian period.
The lid of the incense tray says "Kansei 12 (1800) Buddhist altar incense tray Lid".
It is a very rare temple fixture that rarely comes to the market.
There is deterioration of wood everywhere, but considering it as a tool from 1800, it is considered to be good enough.(see image4,10)
There is no problem in function.
It is JOKOBAN that externals are very good.
