Shigaraki ware from the late Edo period with the atmosphere of an abstract painting-like texture, Jar .
It looks as if it has been strongly bathed in black glaze rather than flowing.
A severe and powerful piece.
Although there are jars with black glaze dripping and running in Tanba ware and other types of pottery, this Jar is unique in the tone and form of the glaze.
The mouth is also thick and strong.
