Vintage Japanese Plaster Toyokawa Inari Fox Statues Pair Torii Gate Shinto

This is a vintage Japanese set featuring a pair of Inari fox (kitsune) statues and a wooden Torii gate. The fox statues are made of a molded plaster or gypsum composition with a painted white finish.

One fox holds a scroll in its mouth, and the other holds a jewel. They sit on rectangular bases decorated with a stylized jewel motif. The accompanying wooden Torii gate is painted in traditional vermilion and black.

The items are in vintage condition, showing signs of aging. The fox statues exhibit surface dirt, discoloration, and peeling paint. The fox holding the scroll has a prominent crack on its lower back extending to the base of the tail, which is clearly visible from behind[Image 11,12]. The wooden Torii gate shows color fading, scratches, and wear.
