Description

Unique Vintage Japanese Stainless Steel "Suiseki" - Fantastic Rock Formation 332g

This is an extraordinarily rare and visually striking metallic "Suiseki" (viewing stone). While traditional Suiseki are made of natural rock, this piece is a fascinating industrial-organic fusion formed from Stainless Steel. It features an intricate, vertical "Kigai" (Fantastic Rock) shape that mimics a rugged mountain crag or a rare scholar’s stone.

Key Features:

  • Industrial Heritage Art: A unique specimen where industrial material has cooled into a complex, organic silhouette. It possesses a brilliant metallic luster and a "frozen in time" energy.

  • Significant Provenance: Includes a handwritten document noting it was collected in Kitakyushu City in March 1972 (Showa 47). Kitakyushu is internationally famous as the historical heart of Japan's steel industry (home to the Yawata Steel Works), giving this piece deep cultural and industrial roots.

  • Zen Display Aesthetic: Despite its industrial origin, it is presented in the traditional Japanese "Suiseki" style, mounted on a custom-carved wooden base for elegant display.

  • Complete Collector's Set: Comes with its original wooden storage box and a yellow protective cloth (Ukon-nuno).
