Japanese Wood Sewing Box Hari-bako Folding Worktop Ko-tansu 34cm

This is a beautiful "Hari-bako" (traditional Japanese sewing chest) from the Showa era. It combines functional storage with an ingenious space-saving design, featuring a folding side wing that extends the top into a wide work surface.

Key Features:
* Versatile Storage: Equipped with multiple drawers and a lower double-door cabinet. The two drawers on the left are lined with red felt, making them ideal for jewelry, fine tools, or sewing needles.
* Unique Folding Table: The side panel lifts and locks into place with a sturdy wooden support, extending the total width to 69 cm for crafts or display.
* Traditional Craftsmanship: The chest showcases a rich wood grain with elegant reddish-brown lacquer and ornate metal fittings (kanagu) typical of traditional tansu.
* Portability: Features a sturdy handle on top for easy transport.
