This is a Japanese wooden ema (votive plaque) from the Edo period, depicting Ono no Komachi, one of the celebrated Rokkasen (Six Immortal Poets). The figure is finely hand-painted in vibrant colors on a large wooden board, showing the elegant beauty of Heian-era court ladies. The character 奉納 (“Hōnō”) on the left indicates that this piece was dedicated to a Shinto shrine as an offering.
