This rare and visually striking Japanese antique signboard is carved in the shape of a goldfish, a traditional symbol of good fortune. It advertises “Jinmaru”, a specialized fever medicine for children, once sold at a Japanese pharmacy.

Crafted from solid wood, the sign features hand-painted gold characters and was originally hung outside a pharmacy to attract customers. Goldfish were often used in Japanese commercial signage for their eye-catching and auspicious form.
