Japanese Showa Period Bronze Vase – Signed by Zentarō Tachikawa – With Box & Certificate

This is a stunning Japanese bronze vase crafted by master metal artist Zentarō Tachikawa (立川善太郎), a highly regarded artisan born in 1920 (Taisho 9), known for preserving and advancing traditional Japanese metalworking techniques.

The vase features a long, elegant neck and a rounded body with a flared foot, finished in a warm reddish-brown patina accented with flowing marbled red patterns. The form and surface treatment reflect the refined aesthetics of mid-20th-century Japanese design.

This piece comes with its original wooden box (tomobako) inscribed by the artist, as well as a biography leaflet highlighting his achievements and credentials. Zentarō Tachikawa received multiple honors and played a key role in preserving traditional craftsmanship in postwar Japan.
