This is an antique Japanese Hagi ware (Hagi-yaki) pottery matcha tea bowl (chawan) dating back to the Meiji period. It comes with a modern wooden storage box.

The bowl features a shallow, slightly asymmetrical form with visible potter's wheel marks creating horizontal bands across the body. It is covered in a pale loquat-brown glaze characterized by a fine network of crackles. The interior displays a distinct spiral pattern, while the unglazed foot ring exposes the granular texture of the clay.
