Yi Bangja Mishima Hakeme Ceramic Chawan Japanese Tea Bowl PCP308

This is a vintage studio pottery tea bowl (chawan) crafted by the artist Yi Bangja. It features a traditional combination of Mishima (stamped and incised decoration) and Hakeme (brushed white slip) ceramic techniques.

The interior of the bowl is decorated with detailed stamped floral medallions and geometric white slip inlays, surrounded by concentric combed patterns as shown in Image2. The exterior showcases a dynamic white slip brushstroke against the dark clay body, along with the artist's signature character "方" painted in iron underglaze near the base as documented in Image7.

Height: 6.5 cm / 2.6 in
Width: 14.0 cm / 5.5 in
Depth: 14.0 cm / 5.5 in
Weight: 234 g / 0.52 lbs

The item exhibits signs of aging and use. The ceramic surface has inherent kiln effects including minor pinholes, natural variations in the glaze thickness, and light shelf wear on the unglazed foot ring. No post-firing cracks or major structural chips are observed.
