Description
From September 18, 2025, shipping costs for U.S. orders include customs duties and clearance fees.

This is a sign with a unique usage, something that was commonly found in merchants' homes.
The characters for 'large' and 'small' were written on opposite sides of this sign. It was used to avoid forgetting to make payments, and to distinguish between months in the lunar calendar. (The 'large' character signifies a lunar month of 30 days, while the 'small' character signifies a lunar month of 29 days)
In the Edo period, shopping was primarily based on credit. The payment was made in a lump sum at the end of the month (or at the end of the year) to the store.
The settlement date, which was the end of the month, was extremely important for merchants, and it was necessary to hang this sign in their accounting area to avoid any mistakes.
