Description
This is a Japanese wooden Noh mask representing Okina or Hakushikijo, a traditional character often featured in sacred Noh and Kyogen performances. Signed and dated Showa 57 (1982), this expressive mask comes with its original paulownia wood box and authentication document.
Hand-carved from wood, the mask features fine craftsmanship with detailed lines, expressive eyebrows, and natural hair for the beard and mustache. The warm patina and traces of age enhance its historical charm. The mask bears the signature and seal of the craftsman “光雄 (Mitsuo)” on the reverse, along with the era inscription, affirming its authenticity and period.
