Vintage Japanese Tea Ceremony Set Ceramic Bowl Lacquer Natsume Whisk PCP301
This is a vintage Japanese tea ceremony utensils set contained in a fitted wooden box. The set includes a ceramic matcha tea bowl, a wooden lacquer natsume (tea caddy), and a bamboo chasen (tea whisk).

The chawan (tea bowl) features a yellowish-brown glaze with dense, darker brown iron-speckled mottling and visible horizontal throwing lines on the exterior. The unglazed foot ring reveals a light-colored clay body. The natsume tea caddy is made of wood finished in a dark, translucent reddish-black lacquer that shows a subtle natural wood grain underneath. The storage box is made of natural wood with ink calligraphy and a red artist seal on the front surface.
Size:
Tea Bowl: 11.0 x 11.0 x 6.8 cm / 4.3 x 4.3 x 2.7 in
Tea Caddy: 5.6 x 5.6 x 5.2 cm / 2.2 x 2.2 x 2.0 in

Signs of aging and regular use are present across all items. The ceramic bowl has minor surface abrasions and natural kiln variations in the glaze. The lacquered tea caddy exhibits fine surface scratches, light scuffs, and minor dust accumulation on the interior surfaces. The bamboo whisk shows drying and slight warping of the tines consistent with age. The wooden box has minor scuffs, faint stains, and wear on the edges.
