Tsuboaki is the craftsman name associated with \u003cstrong\u003eShoji Nakano (Nakano Shoji \/ 中野昭次)\u003c\/strong\u003e, a highly regarded traditional sumitsubo maker from \u003cstrong\u003eSanjo, Niigata\u003c\/strong\u003e, one of Japan’s historic centers of woodworking and tool production.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe signed piece features an especially attractive carved \u003cstrong\u003eturtle (kame)\u003c\/strong\u003e motif around the ink reservoir together with a finely made wooden line wheel.
