Description

This is an antique Japanese Nobori (ceremonial banner flag) dating back to the late Edo period. It is a hand-painted hemp or ramie textile, featuring later fabric repairs and traditional boro mending.

The long fabric depicts samurai figures with distinct stylized facial expressions characteristic of the era, along with family crests and plum trees. The piece features historical hand-stitched repairs using assorted scrap fabrics.
