Description

This is a vintage Japanese wooden haribako (sewing box) or ko-dansu (small chest of drawers). It is a traditional utilitarian item crafted for organizing sewing tools and small personal belongings.

The chest is characterized by its exterior, which features a prominent "tamamoku" (burl or circular figured wood) grain pattern. It is constructed with five front drawers of varying sizes and a hinged top lid. Opening the top lid reveals an upper storage compartment equipped with a removable shallow tray. The drawers are fitted with semi-circular metal pull handles.
