Vintage Japanese Shinto Brass Crown Tendoji Daikan Phoenix Repurposed Box

This is a vintage Japanese brass ceremonial crown, traditionally used in Shinto rituals or festival dances. It comes with an old circular storage box that has been repurposed to store this piece.

The crown features a three-dimensional phoenix (houou) figure at the apex. The structure includes multiple arched wires holding dangling brass pendants accented with small red and blue beads. The main band is decorated with repousse floral and sunburst motifs, and a thick red cord is attached to the base. A Japanese label reading "Tendoji Daikan (Upper)" is attached to the box, which also bears an older commercial "Heiwa" brand label, indicating it was likely originally made for commercial headwear.
