This is a cast bronze paperweight (bunshin) titled "Ding-Hai," crafted by the renowned Japanese metal artist Shugoro Hasuda. Hasuda was a recipient of the Order of Culture and a prominent figure in modern Japanese casting.

The piece features an abstract modernist form with a textured bronze surface and a curved handle. The lower corner is engraved with the artist's hallmark "修". The title "Ding-Hai" refers to the Year of the Boar in the traditional sexagenary cycle. It includes the original signed wooden storage box (tomobako).

Condition:
The item shows surface patina and minor surface wear consistent with age. There are small natural indentations on the bronze surface and the top handle. The wooden box exhibits signs of aging, including slight discoloration.
