This is an antique Japanese Seto ware (Seto-yaki) chawan (tea bowl), dating back to the late Edo period. It is crafted from ceramic and features a traditional brown iron glaze (tetsuyu).
The bowl has a conical shape with a radiating linear pattern carved into the interior surface. It exhibits traditional lacquer repairs (kintsugi), utilizing prominent black lacquer lines and a section of gold lacquer to mend historical cracks and a rim chip.
