Description

This is a natural Japanese "suiseki" (viewing stone), specifically a "kikkaseki" (chrysanthemum stone) originating from Gifu Prefecture. It comes with a custom-fitted wooden base (daiza).

The stone features a dark matrix with prominently exposed, white radiating crystals that resemble a chrysanthemum flower. This highly three-dimensional state, where the floral crystals protrude from the weathered matrix, is known in Japan as "saba-giku".

Height: 12.0 cm / 4.72 in
Width: 4.5 cm / 1.77 in
Depth: 3.8 cm / 1.49 in
Weight: 468 g / 1.03 lbs

The item is a natural raw stone in vintage condition, showing signs of aging and natural weathering. There are natural rough textures, fissures, and minor losses inherent to the mineral formation. The wooden base has slight surface wear.
