Width: 13.4 inches
This is a Japanese lacquered gourd basket (Fukube), handcrafted in Tochigi Prefecture using the traditional Fukube Saiku technique.
Originally used in the Japanese tea ceremony as a charcoal basket (Sumitori), it now serves beautifully as a wabi-sabi interior art object that harmonizes nature and craftsmanship.

The natural gourd form, warm brown exterior, and vivid vermilion lacquer interior create a striking organic contrast.
Its unique sculptural shape makes it versatile — suitable for modern interiors as a centerpiece bowl, ikebana flower vessel, fruit display tray, or incense arrangement base.
