The Kosatsu (Japanese: The , literally "high plaque") Due to aging, the signboard has darkened, making the ink-written characters difficult to read. The top image has been significantly brightened to improve visibility. When viewed indoors, the color tone appears as shown in the second image. This is an authentic piece, the same as those found in archives and museums. It is inscribed with "Keiō 4, March" (Keiō 4 corresponds to 1868). During this period, the Dajōkan (Grand Council of State) erected these nationwide. As a historical document, you can find the same type of kōsatsu (official notice board) online.
