Pokkuri are traditional Japanese footwear worn by young girls and unmarried women to match their kimono. Additionally, they are used as footwear for maiko (apprentice geisha), hanamuko (assistant to the geisha), oiran (courtesans), tayu (high-ranking courtesans), and kamuro (young female attendants), as well as to match celebratory attire for the Shichi-Go-San festival.
