This is a high-quality item used by wealthy merchants, featuring well-crafted copper fittings and beautifully grained wood.
It is a wooden chest of drawers.
There is a gap in the top lid.
The top lid cannot be closed because the hardware is broken.
The back is inscribed with "Meiji 7" (1874). During this period, it was common to record the date on the back when something was newly crafted.
