Mino ware Shino tea bowl.

Please refer to Image16. Part of it is a "Yobitsugi" (restored piece using fragments of another tea bowl) from the same kiln and era but from a different tea bowl.
This is a rare Shino tea bowl from early Edo-period Mino ware. It features a repair, likely done with silver (gin-naoshi). The repaired rim has been adorned with gold decorations that mimic the original iron-painted design. The distinctive clay and soft feldspathic glaze, characteristic of Shino ware from this era, are particularly striking.

The bowl's texture reflects its long history of careful use, likely as a companion for drinking sake, and it carries the charm of both excavated and passed-down artifacts. The iron-painted motifs display a unique coloration typical of this period—something that would be nearly impossible to replicate with modern techniques.

This tea bowl is an object of both aesthetic and historical value, radiating a sense of deep attachment.
