It is a Bushi NoboriÂ samurai flag.
It is from the early Showa period. Around 1930-1940
The same picture is painted on both the front and back.

Subject: Zhong Kui Festival (Sekku) Nobori made of cotton, with ink and coloring.Â
This is a warrior's Nobori with colors that are vividly preserved.
A deity from Taoism that is mainly passed down through Chinese folklore. In Japan, it is believed to be effective against smallpox and for the achievement of academic success, and pictures or dolls are dedicated during the Dragon Boat Festival.
