Antique Edo Mid-18th Century Japanese Hasami Ware Bowl – Hand-Painted Plum Blossom Design – "Daimin Nensei" Mark This is a Kurawanka tea bowl with a Hasami ware plum pattern.
This is a beautiful Hasami ware bowl from the mid-Edo period (circa mid-18th century), featuring an elegant hand-painted plum blossom (ume) motif. The brushwork is fluid and expressive, showcasing the skill of an experienced artisan who has mastered the technique over years of practice. The design retains a sense of liveliness and refinement, characteristic of the early stages of Kurawanka ware before the painting style became more simplified.
On the underside, there is an inscription reading "Daimin Nensei" (大明年製) in a highly stylized script, a common mark found on Japanese ceramics inspired by Chinese Ming dynasty porcelains.
