This is a rare and beautiful antique Japanese Tansu chest from the Meiji era (1868â1912), featuring a unique configuration of multiple drawers and compartments. Crafted from solid wood with a deep, rich lacquer finish, this piece was likely used for storing medicine, calligraphy tools, or other small valuables.
