Antique Japanese Mino Oribe Ceramic Well Pulley & Tsurube Buckets SCBP47

This is an antique Japanese ceramic well pulley (kassha) and twin buckets (tsurube) set, originating from the Mino region. Dating to the late Meiji or early Showa period, this set was likely designed as a hanging flower vase (kakehanaire) or a decorative item for a tea room or garden.

Both the buckets and the pulley wheel are made entirely of ceramic. They feature a dual-tone glazing technique typical of Mino ware, combining a yellowish-brown base (Kizeto style) with a thick, dripping dark green glaze (Oribe style) on the upper half. The buckets have integrated ceramic crossbars and handles, and the set is connected by an antique forged iron chain. An impressed maker's mark reading "Fukutou" is present on the base.
