■ Description Item Details This is a Japanese antique bronze hand mirror (E-kagami) dating back to the Edo Period (17th–19th century).

Motif: The relief design features the auspicious "Crane and Turtle" (Tsuru Kame) motif, accompanied by Pine trees (Matsu) and Bamboo.

Symbolism: In Japan, "cranes live for 1,000 years, and turtles for 10,000 years." Together with the evergreen pine and bamboo, this composition symbolizes longevity, resilience, and eternal youth (often associated with the mythical Mt. Horai).

Minogame: The turtle is depicted as a Minogame (a turtle with a tail of algae), signifying extreme old age and good fortune.

Inscription (Signature): On the left side, the inscription "Tenka-ichi" (天下一) is visible, a prestigious title meaning "Best under Heaven," historically granted to master mirror makers.
