This antique Japanese picture book, originally created in early Showa as a “National History Moral Picture Collection,” features vivid samurai battle scenes and historical stories. The detailed color prints depict warriors, armor, and legendary battles, reflecting Japan’s long tradition of illustrated storytelling similar to ukiyo-e.

Participating artists include notable Meiji–Showa ukiyo-e masters such as Ogata Gekkō, Kobayashi Kiyochika, Mizuno Toshikata, Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, and Yōsai Nobukazu, all known for their historical and warrior-themed works.
