Description

■ Description Item Details This is a heavy, high-quality Japanese antique wooden mask representing Hannya. Due to its significant weight and construction, it is designed as a decorative wall ornament (Okimono) rather than a mask to be worn.

  • Material: Carved from a very dense, heavy Hardwood (approx. 700g). The wood features a striking, swirling grain pattern, likely Zelkova (Keyaki) Burl or a similar precious root wood.

  • Eyes: The eyes are carved directly into the wood, showcasing the natural grain without metallic accents.

  • Feature: The horns are detachable.

    • Mechanism: The attachment style differs for each horn. One side has a peg extending from the mask, while the other side has the peg attached to the horn itself.

  • Accessories: None (Mask only).
