Vintage Japanese Ozashiki Sudare Bamboo Blind Woven Hanging Screen

This Japanese ozashiki sudare is a woven bamboo hanging blind traditionally used in Japanese rooms to filter light and define an interior space.

The closely spaced slender bamboo strips are held with dark horizontal threads, with a decorative braided cord and tassel fittings. The warm brown and muted tones give the screen a restrained appearance.
