Beschreibung

This is a vintage Japanese copper vase. It is shaped like a traditional abura tsubo (oil pot) but functions well as a bud vase (ichirin-zashi).

This is a vintage Japanese copper (bronze) bud vase (ichirin-zashi), crafted by the metal artist Katsumine.

The vase features an unusual design with a cylindrical neck and base transitioning into a prominent, box-like square middle section. The central square body is heavily textured and decorated with raised, geometric linear motifs arranged in alternating horizontal and vertical patterns. The surface exhibits a dark brown patina heavily covered in natural green verdigris (rust). The artist's mark "Katsumine" is stamped on the bottom.

Height: 23.0 cm / 9.05 in
Width: 8.7 cm / 3.42 in
Depth: 8.7 cm / 3.42 in
Weight: 1260 g / 2.77 lbs

The item is in vintage condition, showing signs of aging. The metal surface exhibits significant natural oxidation, heavy verdigris (green rust), surface wear, and minor scratches.
