Beschreibung

This is a vintage Japanese copper vase. It is shaped like a traditional abura tsubo (oil pot) but functions well as a bud vase (ichirin-zashi).

This is a vintage Japanese copper flower vase (kabin). Due to its highly unusual shape, it may have originally been created as a suibyo (water jug) placed next to a Buddhist statue, such as Fudo Myoo.

The vase features a unique silhouette with a wide, conical base that tapers into a bulbous midsection before extending into a straight, narrow neck. The surface is finished with a dark, mottled green and brown patina. A maker's mark is engraved on the bottom. The piece is likely cast copper from the Takaoka or Yamagata regions, though the specific artist is unidentified.

Height: 26.0 cm / 10.23 in
Width: 7.0 cm / 2.75 in
Depth: 7.0 cm / 2.75 in
Weight: 520 g / 1.14 lbs

The item is in vintage condition, showing signs of aging. The copper surface exhibits natural discoloration, oxidation, and minor surface wear typical of old metalware.
